Working at Toll Taiwan

Transcript: English | Traditional Chinese

Hello everyone, I’m Frederick, Vice-President of Toll Global Forwarding in Taiwan.

It’s a pleasure today to share our communication methods, the people we deal with, and the tools we use here at Toll. Firstly, the principles we adhere to are respect for professionalism and respect for all colleagues’ opinions. Here, you feel that your opinions are listened to, incorporated in decision-making, and implemented. This results in a positive business approach. As I often say to colleagues, “Your opinion matters”.

Next is the diverse, multicultural nature of the people we deal with. On a conference call, I might encounter colleagues from Singapore, Hong Kong, China, the Netherlands, Indonesia or the US. Everyone comes from different cultures, yet we are generally able to understand and communicate with each other in pursuit of a common objective. While we don’t reach unanimous agreement on every issue, we generally do come to a consensus that allows us to execute our plans. In terms of tools, we make good use of Microsoft Teams, which is similar to the LINE app that’s popular here in Taiwan. You can message people or make cloud calls quickly and at any time, or hold group meetings. With the pandemic going on, looking out for each other by video makes life much warmer.

Thank you.
